Tree silhouettes
I think that the shapes and patterns formed by bare trees are much under-appreciated. Each kind of tree exhibits a different branching pattern and even individuals of the same species of tree may exhibit differences in their silhouettes. I appreciate (tree) silhouettes because they are an attempt to extract the essence of something much more complex, a kind of minimalization that I am fond of. Sometimes the silhouette may even reveal something new altogether.
